2027 Saskatchewan Agriculture Student Scholarship Now Accepting Applications

CANADA, October 7 - Released on October 7, 2026

Applications are open for the 2027 Agriculture Student Scholarship. Four scholarships are available, including a top prize of $6,000 and three runner-up scholarships valued at $3,000 each.

“By supporting students who are passionate about agriculture and encouraging them to find solutions to real-world challenges, we’re investing in the next generation of agricultural leaders,” Federal Agriculture and Agri-Food Heath Minister MacDonald said. “We’re committed to giving young Canadians the opportunities they need to help shape a more innovative, sustainable and resilient sector for generations to come.”

"Supporting tomorrow’s agriculture leaders is essential to the long-term success of our province," Agriculture Minister David Marit said. "The Agriculture Student Scholarship recognizes outstanding students and celebrates their contributions to the future of the industry."

This year's theme, solutions to challenges in agriculture, invites students to share innovative ways to address the issues facing the agriculture industry today. Applicants can explore topics ranging from technological innovation and collaboration to public engagement and education.

"I think it is a great opportunity for students to get their ideas out there and be heard," 2026 Agriculture Student Scholarship grand prize winner Carson Green said. "If young people get involved early, it benefits the industry as a whole."

Applicants are required to submit a three-minute video or 1,000-word essay. Grade 12 students or recent high school/CAEC graduates within the past two school years (i.e., graduate of 2025, 2026 or 2027) living in Saskatchewan who plan to take agriculture-related post-secondary education beginning in the fall of 2027 are eligible to submit their applications.

The deadline for applications is March 1, 2027. For more information on the Agriculture Student Scholarship Program, visit saskatchewan.ca/ag-scholarship.

This award is funded through the Sustainable Canadian Agricultural Partnership, a five-year (April 1, 2023, to March 31, 2028), $3.5-billion investment by federal, provincial and territorial governments to strengthen the competitiveness, innovation and resiliency of Canada's agriculture, agri-food and agri-based products sector. This includes $1 billion in federal programs and activities and a $2.5-billion commitment that is cost-shared 60 per cent federally and 40 per cent provincially/territorially for programs that are designed and delivered by provinces and territories.
