Notice of Public Hearings - October 5, 2026 Land Use Map and Text Amendment
The Granville County Board of Commissioners at their meeting on Monday, October 5, 2026 will hold legislative hearings at 7:00 PM or later at the Granville Expo and Convention Center at 4185 US Highway 15 South, Oxford, N.C. 27565.
The purpose of the legislative hearings are to hear public comments on the following zoning map amendment (rezoning) petition and land development code text amendment petition:
Zoning Map Amendment (Rezoning) Petition Z-2-2026
The Granville County Planning has petitioned to rezone 75.81 acres that has frontage on Hayes Road to Agricultural Residential 40 (AR40), WS-IV General Watershed (WS-IV-GW), and Lower Falls Watershed Overlay District The Granville County Planning Board has petitioned to rezone 75.81 acres that has frontage on Hayes Road to Agricultural Residential 40 (AR-40), WS-IV General Watershed (WS-IV-GW), and Lower Falls Watershed Overlay District. The property is identified as Tax Map #180603417847 and is owned by Mr. William H. Wynn. The property was previously in the City of Creedmoor but has been de-annexed from the city by the North Carolina General Assembly.
Granville County Land Development Code Text Amendment Petition
AMENDMENT THAT WOULD REMOVE SECTION 32-582 (b & c) REGARDING EXPEDITED SUBDIVISION REVIEW FROM THE GRANVILLE COUNTY LAND DEVELOPMENT CODE. Changes may be made in the advertised proposals which reflect debate, objections, and discussions at the hearings. Any interested citizen is invited to attend.
